What is a pony?

-A pony is a small horse measuring under 14.2 hands tall, or 4’ and 8’’ at the withers (top of the shoulder of the horse). That means the pony ride pony might be taller than you think!

What if I am scared to ride?

-Services are final. We do charge a $20 tacking fee for riders who quit last minute or choose to get off the horse. If you’re going to be scared, please reconsider booking. We do our best to teach you to be successful on the horse. We give short lessons before you head out so you know how to control your horse.

What if I just want one lesson?

- We only offer lessons by the package or membership. Our philosophy is you can’t learn how to ride with just one lesson. If you are unsure to commit we offer trail rides or a short, Ride N’ Groom where you can come groom the horse and take a short ride in the arena. Call for more questions about lessons!

Am I too big to ride?

- For the safety of our horses we do have weight limits. We have horses here that can carry 250*.

Can we go fast!

-Yes, but no. Going “fast” or in horse terms, trotting, requires you to know how to ride. You need to be able to stop and steer your horse for safety. While on a group trail, the trail will only go as fast as the slowest rider. So if one wants to walk, everyone walks. Skills are also tested inside the arena, if you are able to show you can control your horse, then yes, you can trot on the trail. There is NO GALLOPING. Please do not ask the Head Wrangler to go fast, there are spot on the trail where we can safely trot.

Why are shoes so important?

- Wearing the right footwear is the difference between walking home, and being carried home. Horses are big animals and can weight more than 1,200 lbs! Being stepped on by a horse hurts! Protect your toes and cover them! Also while riding you rest your foot in whats called a stirrup, if you wear slip ons and something happens, your shoe can get stuck in the stirrup and will result in disaster. Please wear a shoe that fully encloses your foot. At best, boots with a heel.

Do you offer any discounts?

-Yes! If you book and confirm a party of 10+ for a classic trail ride, or 20+ for pony rides, we will take $5 off each rider! Family trail rides are ineligible for discounts.
